I wonder if some of the basis this comment has to due with the fact that Ionia-well, the Magypsies in general-are not beings who are defined by the genders and gender roles we typically find in Western cultures. That scene is supposed to look questionable, but all she ended up doing was holding Lucas’ head under the water for a bit in order to bring forth his psychic abilities. She did not! Seriously, you’ve totally missed the joke of that scene if you think that. Ugh, something tells me that I may regret bringing this comment up:
I’m not someone who is “offended” by bizarro pairings and such, either, and I tend to find this sort of thing funny…funny in a “They can’t be serious? Goofballs…” sort of way. But I’m not ‘offended’ by people drawing the characters in whatever way…the first thing I thought was that 'This is not true to the characters'…Frankly I just think it’s a shame that they don’t make up their own characters to twist into unimaginable shapes that way.Įh, I thought I was the only one who thought that it’s a shame people don’t put energy into creating their own characters instead of twisting characters of given fandom into something that they totally are not.
